Odisha: The preparations for upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival have reached its final stages in Odisha. Despite initial hiccups due to low pressure induced rain, idol makers across Odisha are now busy in giving final touches to Ganesh idols.

The idol makers are now working round the clock to meet the Ganesh idol orders from different institutions and youth associations and clubs across Odisha.

“I am working on a Ganesh idol which will be made from spring coils. We procured the raw materials mostly spring coils from Kolkata which is available there in various shapes and size colours," said Ratnakar, an idol maker from Balasore.

Ratnakar further said that there is no scope for error in idol making as it will rob its beauty.

“I am toiling hard for past one and half months to complete the Palm leaf idol that I have undertaken this year. This an innovative piece of work and I strongly believe that it would be the best Idol in Balasore district and will be appreciated by people during the festival,” Said Satyaranjan Lenka another idol maker from the district.

Apart from Balasore, the idol makers in Sambalpur are coming up with innovate themes and idols.
