Bhubaneswar: The House yet again witnessed uproar by Congress members as the face-off between senior Congress MLA Narasingha Mishra and BJP deputy leader Bishnu Sethi over Mahatma Gandhi and Nathuram Godse continued for the second consecutive day today at the Odisha Assembly.

On Monday, Mishra had stated in the Assembly that Mahatma’s killer Nathuram Godse is being worshiped and his ideology boosted by a section of people in the BJP, now ruling at the Centre. Reacting to this, Bishnu Sethi uttering that no one should teach BJP patriotism and nationalism, mentioned about the activities of Navjot Singh Sidhu and Mani Shankar Aiyyar.

Today during Assembly proceedings, Narasingha Mishra again lashed out at Sethi for such comments while clarifying that the party has already taken action against Aiyyar.

Countering the senior Congress leader, Sethi said, "This is not the first time that discussion on people from outside the House is being held. Congress president had also done the same earlier."

Earlier, the MLAs cutting across party lines had expressed displeasure in the Odisha Assembly over delay in beginning of the celebrations marking the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in a big way.

The issue was raised by Congress Legislature Party leader Narasingha Mishra during Zero Hour which was supported by the MLAs of his party apart from members of BJP and ruling-BJD.
