Koraput: The advisor of the Maoist-backed Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh (CMAS) today was acquitted by the Additional District and Sessions Judge of Jeypore court in the case relating to forceful acquisition of lands belonging to scheduled castes and making unparliamentary statements against the scheduled caste persons of village Uparakanti under Semiliguda police station.

Gananath Patra till date has already been acquitted in four out of six cases registered against him. Two more cases were still pending against Gananath Patra in the Jeypore court. The cases were related to attack on Narayanpatna police station in 2009 and killing of Piniti Suresh at Bandhugaon.
