Forum protests decision to shut down ICCR office in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Cultural forum Jyoti Kala Mandir today protested the decision to close down the regional office of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in Bhubaneswar.

According to sources, the decision to shut down ICCR’s regional office, which comes under the purview of the Foreign Ministry, was taken by the Delhi governing body and the forum has termed the move as an ‘unfortunate’ one.

Odisha’s art and crafts will be majorly affected by the decision, the forum alleged.

“They should really reconsider and find a way to keep this office here. That’s our demand and request,” said founder of Jyoti Kala Mandir, Jyoti Rout.
