Former student leader threatens to vehemently oppose MLA Arun Sahoo’s visit to Mayurbhanj

Baripada: Former North Orissa University students’ union president, Tushar Nayak once again launched a scathing attack on MLA and Mayurbhanj district observer of BJD, Arun Sahoo over non-regularisation of different departments of the university.

“We had received a notice from the Secretariat for regularisation of the departments but the promises are yet to be fulfilled. MLA Sahoo has also not been relieved from the observer post of Mayurbhanj unit of the party and so from now on, his visit to any part of the district will be vehemently opposed,” Nayak said.

Earlier on May 29 this year, Sahoo found himself in a spot for humiliating Nayak in front of party workers. Nayak had said that he wanted to apprise Sahoo about the demands of the students of the varsity, but instead he was allegedly made to do sit-ups by the former minister.

The incident had sparked a state-wide outrage with the Opposition political parties resorting to protests against Sahoo.

However, the issue was resolved after the intervention of local BJD leaders and party’s assurance to remove of Sahoo from the post of observer.
