Former MLA levels corruption charges against Pratap Jena

Kendrapara: Former MLA of Mahanga constituency in Kendrapara district, Bikram Kesari Barma has levelled corruption charges against the current MLA of the constituency and Health Minister Pratap Jena.

”Nowadays the contractors are not doing their work without percentage commission (PC in colloquial terms). During my term, no one took any commission. The MLA himself takes commission for government contracts,” alleged Barma.

While speaking to mediapersons yesterday, Barma also said that it is high time to bring change and he is hopeful that Chief Minister and party president will have faith and give him a chance.

Responding to the allegations, BJD’s Mahanga Block president, Rajkishore Jena said “Minister Pratap Jena has always protested against the commissions. He asks party workers to stay away from taking commissions. Barma’s allegations are baseless. It is very likely that he has made such allegations because he sees Jena as a competitor.”
