Former block vice-chairman shot dead

Bhubaneswar: Barely one week after the police arrested two members of maoist organisation- Peoples Liberation Front of India (PLFI) near Rajgangpur, suspected members of the extremist group have killed Hardeep Singh, a BJD leader and former vice-chairman of Rajgangpur block. Bullet ridden body of the deceased was recovered from near a road connecting Kansbahal-Bhugarh.

The police have seized a poster from the spot and it carried the signature of PLFI leader Vijay. The poster also read Singh paid the price for being a police informer and instigating the public against PLFI. Singh was reportedly working as block representative of MP Mangala Kishan.

Last Friday one Pancham Nanda was killed by the red rebels near Ranipiatha, nearly 30kms from Rajganjpur, whom the they suspected as a police informer.
