Former Athamallik MLA found dead on rail tracks
Angul: The body of former MLA of Athamallik Rajkishore Pradhan was recovered near railway tracks at Kainphulia under Nalco police limits in the district last evening. He was 85.
According to his family, Pradhan had left home yesterday saying he was going to Boinda. After he did not return, his family members made a frantic search but in vain.
Soon after the GRP personnel spotted Pradhan’s body beside the railway tracks, they informed his family members who rushed to the spot to identify the body this morning.
While police are suspecting he might have tried to get down at Kainphulia and died after slipping off the train, the former legislator’s family members informed that he was suffering from memory loss for the past few days.
Pradhan was elected to the Athamallik assembly constituency on Utkal Congress ticket in 1971.
