Deogarh: At least 44 persons comprising a village football team and its supporters were injured, five of them seriously, when the vehicle carrying them turned turtle in Odisha's Deogarh district today, police said.
 
The team from Rengalbahal under Barkot police station and supporters were on its way to participate in a football tournament at Khajurikhomana when the vehicle skidded off the road near Kula on NH-49, Superintendent of Police, Deogarh, Satyajit Nayak said.
 
The vehicle was carrying 45 persons including the driver when the mishap struck. Four of the five seriously injured were shifted to VSS Medical College Hospital at Burla while others were being treated at the district headquarter hospital here, he said.
