Food Commission likely to get cabinet nod today

Bhubaneswar: The State Cabinet in its meeting on Monday is likely to approve a proposal of the Food Supply and Consumer Welfare department on the constitution of Food Commission in the state, official sources said here on Sunday.

The meeting, to be presided over by chief minister Naveen Patnaik at the State Secretariat here, is also likely to approve a proposal of the Health department for setting up of a Health university in the state.

Reliable sources said the reports of the judicial commissions on Kandhamal riots in 2007 and 2008 will be presented in the meeting for discussion.

Apart from this, the cabinet is likely to approve some proposals of the School and Mass Education, Higher Education, Agriculture and Energy departments, they added.
