Berhampur: Police have traced five more vehicles belonging to former Congress MLA Ramesh Jena, together worth more than Rs 2 crore, from different parts of the State.

Among the five vehicles seized today was a vehicle worth Rs 15 lakh owned by R. Muralimohan, an aide of Jena. during a raid at Jyotsna Enclave located at Nayapalli in Bhubaneswar.

Sources said the former Congress MLA used to visit flat no-104 in the apartment frequently.

Trinath Patel, Additional SP, Berhampur, said, “A Volkswagen Jetta was recovered in the raid in Bhubaneswar. A Lexus bearing a fake registration number was also found also here. The ownership of the vehicle has not been established yet.”

In a related development, the residence of Congress leader Saka Sujit Kumar at Kukudakhandi was searched by the police on Sunday on suspicion of his connection with the arrested former MLA from Sanakhemundi.

Sujit Kumar had contested in last Assembly polls from Digapahandi constituency on Congress ticket.

Meanwhile, the police took Jena on a fresh remand for seven days after completion of his five-day remand today.
