Five injured in group clash in Balasore

Balasore: Tension ran high at Kupura village in the district today after a clash broke out between two groups leaving five persons critically injured.

According to reports, the clash erupted between the two groups over fencing of a farmland in the village.

The injured were first rushed to the Simulia hospital and later shifted to SCB in Cuttack after their condition deteriorated.

Sources said a long standing dispute was prevailing between the two groups of the village over a farmland. When a group was fencing around the farmland this morning, the other group allegedly attacked them with swords and other sharp weapons. Following this, five persons received grievous injuries on their neck and head.

Meanwhile, police reached the spot after receiving information and began probe into the incident.
