Rourkela: Police on Sunday arrested five persons for allegedly impersonating as examinees while attending a competitive examination of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at different centres in Rourkela.

All the arrested have been identified as residents of Bihar. One was arrested by the Plant site police from Delhi Public School while the rest four persons were held from Guru Nanak Public School by the Sector-15 police.

As per reports, the examination was being conducted for constable post in CISF Fire Department.

Sources said when the five were undergoing identification process at their respective examination centres, biometrics and identification cards did not match and their faces also differed from original examinees.

Subsequently, invigilators informed the police, who rushed to the two centres, and arrested the five after interrogating them.

Meanwhile, a case under Sections 419 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered in connection with the incident. A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) rank officer along with CISF officials have also initiated a probe to establish if any other examinee used dummy candidates to appear the examination, said sources.
