First Year Course Likely To Be Included In CHSE Final Exam
Bhubaneswar: With the aim to create interest for studies among students, the Council of Higher Secondary Education(CHSE) is planning to include first year course in the Plus Two final exam, informed Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Samir Das on Thursday.
After attending a meeting of the CHSE academic council, Das addressed the media and informed that a proposal to include the first year subjects in the Plus Two final examinations has been given to the Council.
“During my spot verification at different colleges I have received feedback from the students that most of them are not serious about the exams conducted in the first year because the college authorities take it casually as it is not conducted by the CHSE. Besides, the first year subjects are not included in the second year final exams,” Das said.
“Therefore, to improve their interest in studies in the first year we have suggested the CHSE academic council to include around 30 to 40 percent question from the first year while preparing question paper for the Plus Two exam,” the Mass Education Minister added.
“We will also be strict about attendance of the students. Each student should have at least 75 percent attendance in the first year,” Das said.
Das further said that conducting the examination on time, publishing the results accordingly and hassle-free issuance of certificates were also discussed during the meeting. Moreover, discussion on how technology can be used for different works of CHSE was held during the meeting.
