Bhubaneswar: The first round selection for admission into plus II courses in junior colleges across the State was announced today. The cut off marks are available on the website of the higher education department, official sources said. BJB College stood top in the cut off mark list for science stream which is recorded 92.5% followed by 91.67% in Ravenshaw junior college, Cuttack. The cut-off marks in Basic Science College is 89.3%.

Similarly, the cut-off marks were placed at 87.33%, 85.83%, 85.5% respectively for Khalikote College, Sailabal College and Ramadevi College in science. Likewise, the cut off marks for other prominent colleges like FM College, GM College, VD College and SCS College are 85.83%, 82%, 73.05% and 82% respectively in the same stream.

In Commerce, the cut-off marks for BJB College was at 80.33% while the cut-offs for other colleges were as follows: Ravenshaw Junior College- 78.33%, Khalikote College- 67.83%, Ramadevi College- 64.33%, SCS College- 64%, G M College- 64.06% and F M College- 54.05%.

In Arts stream, the cut-off marks for various leading colleges were: BJB College- 64.67%, Ravenshaw Junior College- 64%, SCS College- 63.67%, F M College- 62.33%, Sailabala College- 61.05%, Ramadevi College-57.5%, Khalikote College- 52.67%, G M College-48.83% and V D College- 45.17%.

The students can take admission between June 26 and 29 failing which they will not be allowed to take admission after scheduled date. The higher education department has decided not to send the intimation letters to the students this time unlike previous years. However, they can download the same from the official website. They will be informed through mobile SMS, e-mail regarding their selection, higher education department officials said.
