First med expo organised in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: To showcase high-tech medical equipment and machines, the Odisha Med Expo began in Bhubaneswar today. The expo, organised on the premises of a private hospital, witnessed the presence of large number of doctors and healthcare personnel.
The expo was inaugurated by State Health Minister Pratap Jena. The expo is aimed at creating awareness among the doctors and healthcare personnel about new machines and technology, sources said.
Demonstrations of various medical equipment and machines have also been organised for visitors.
Organiser Aparijita Mohapatra said “We are holding this exhibition for the first time in Odisha to create awareness among doctors. As doctors find very little time to research for better equipments, we are making it easier for them.”
“This kind of expo is held in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. This will benefit the doctors, technicians and nurses by creating awareness about the utility of new equipment. Around 100-120 companies will be displaying their equipments at the expo,” said Ashok Mohapatra, SUM Hospital director.
The expo will continue till December 2.
