According to the schedule, the eclipse will begin at 3:20:17 pm. The total phase of the eclipse will last for 56 minutes and 6 seconds, and the phenomenon will conclude at 6:47 pm.

Advisory On Religious, Household Practices

Astrologers have issued an advisory detailing religious and household practices to be observed during the eclipse period. Devotees have been advised to suspend worship during the eclipse and keep shrine rooms closed. Cooking and consumption of cooked food are prohibited during the specified duration. It has also been recommended that doors and windows of homes remain closed and that no auspicious activities be undertaken during the eclipse.

The advisory further states that individuals should avoid touching trees, using sharp objects, or engaging in activities such as cutting and sewing. Consumption of oil, fish, meat, or intoxicating substances is also discouraged during the period. The ‘Handi Chhad’ period will commence at 6:04 am and continue for over 13 hours.

Significance Of Ghat Kala Period

As per astrological beliefs, the ‘Ghat Kala’ period during a lunar eclipse is considered significant and inauspicious. This phase will begin nine hours before the start of the eclipse, commencing at 6:20 am and ending at 6:46 pm. During this time, worship of deities and cooking are advised against.

Astrologers have also cautioned against travelling long distances for a week from the time of the eclipse and advised that marriage ceremonies should not be conducted during the eclipse week.

Regarding zodiac signs, eclipse viewing is considered auspicious for individuals born under Aries, Gemini, Leo, Scorpio, Libra, Sagittarius and Pisces. However, for those born under Capricorn, Taurus, Cancer and Virgo, viewing the eclipse is regarded as inauspicious, according to astrological interpretations.
