Bhubaneswar: Taking the process of re-admission another step forward, the elite junior colleges in the state on Tuesday published their first cut-off list for admission into intermediate courses- Arts, Science, and Commerce- under the Council of Higher Secondary Education.

Baxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhara (BJB) Junior College, Rama Devi (RD) Women’s College, Ravenshaw Junior College, Gangadhar Meher (GM) College, Fakir Mohan (FM) College, Khallikote College and Samanta Chandra Sekhar (SCS) College, the seven topnotch colleges brought out the first cut off lists for the students seeking admission to their college of choices.

As per reports, in BJB College, Bhubaneswar the cut-off percentages in science, commerce, and arts streams are 92.33, 79.83, and 58.17 respectively. There has been a rise in 0.65 percent in the science stream with the previous year’s cut-off mark being 91.68 percent.

State’s oldest college Ravenshaw Junior College, Cuttack also issued its cut-off percentage for the three streams. While the cut-off percentage remained at 90.11 percent last year in the science stream, the stream also witnessed a growth by 1.15 percent this year. The cut-off marks in the rest two streams have been fixed to be 75.67 percent (Commerce) and 56 percent (Arts).

The first-round cut-off percentage of the city’s R. D. Women’s College was also out where the percentage in the science stream was 85 percent which remained at 84 percent last year. The other two streams published cut-off marks of 64.50 percent and 48.83 percent in commerce and science respectively.

Similarly, the cut-off marks in GM College (78.17 pc in Science, 58.90 pc in Commerce and 42.67 pc in Arts), Khallikote College (84.67 pc in Science, 67.33 pc in Commerce and 46.83 pc in Arts),

FM College (85.17 pc in Science, 56.67 pc in Commerce and 55.50 pc in Arts) and SCS College (80.50 pc in Science, 66.50 pc in Commerce and 60.67 pc in Arts) were also out today.

The students can visit the website www.dheorissa.in and know their status in the colleges opted for by them on the basis of the lists of cut-off marks published by the respective colleges.

The eligible students, as per the date mentioned on the intimation card the students can be admitted to their respective colleges by producing the necessary documents between August 1 – and August 5.

“If a student finds his/her name in the cut-off list, he/she has to take admission in that college irrespective of the colleges opted by him/her for admission,” Principal of BJB Junior College Surendra Nath Mohanty said.

“The students selected on the basis of the specific options can download the intimation card from the internet. Intimation letters have also been posted to the selected candidates for admission,” Programme Manager of E-admission Sankarshan Das said.

The publication of the second cut-off list is due on August 11.
