First cut-off list for +3 admission announced
Bhubaneswar: The Department of Higher Education (DHE), Odisha Tuesday announced the first merit list of selected candidates for admission into +3 courses for academic year 2018-19. The selected candidates can now take admission in various degree colleges affiliated to different universities of Odisha.
Official sources said as many as 1, 14,331 students were selected for degree admissions in Arts stream while 19,753 students got through in Commerce. In Science stream, 29,131 and 20,346 students have been selected for physical science and biological science respectively.
Sources informed that more than 2 lakh students had applied through DHE, Odisha out of which 1,88,960 students have been selected on the basis of first cut-off list marks.
Admission -in-charge of Higher Education Department, Mihir Kumar Das informed, “The first phase admission in various colleges will begin tomorrow and continue till July 7 for the selected students. We have sent intimation to students through messages and the students can also check available information on the official website and at nearby colleges.”
Das further stated that the selected students will have to take admission on the basis of the merit list and there will be auto-admission after the second merit list, if there is a slide-up.
The second round merit list is scheduled to be released on July 11 while the second phase admissiin will be held for two days starting July 12.
The students are advised to check the official websites- www.dheodisha.gov.in and www.samsodisha.gov.in for more information about the +3 admissions for 2018-19 session.
The application process for +3 admissions had earlier started through a Common Application Form (CAF) on DHE, Odisha’s official websites dheodisha.gov.in and samsodisha.gov.in from June 12.
The students applying for admission in various streams were asked to select at least five colleges and a maximum of 10 colleges this year.
