A fire broke out in a coal-laden goods train passing through Bolangir district on Monday, triggering swift action by railway authorities and fire services. The incident was reported at Turekela railway station, where timely intervention prevented any casualties or major damage.

According to preliminary information, the goods train was en route from Raipur to Visakhapatnam when flames were first noticed near Harishankar Road railway station. Following the detection of the fire, an alert was immediately issued to officials at Turekela railway station.

Acting promptly, railway authorities halted the train at Turekela station to prevent the fire from spreading to other wagons. Emergency arrangements were made, and the fire services were informed without delay.

Fire service personnel from Kantabanji rushed to the spot and carried out firefighting operations. Officials said the fire was confined to a single wagon of the coal-laden train. The flames were successfully doused, and the situation was brought under control.
