FIR against BJD MP Anubhav Mohanty for allegedly abusing woman journalist

Cuttack: A woman journalist has filed a complaint against BJD's Kendrapara MP Anubhav Mohanty for allegedly abusing her physically and verbally.

Sources said a case has been registered against the BJD MP and his brother Anuprash Mohanty at Purighat Police Station in Cuttack under IPC sections- 294, 354 (A), 323, 34 based on the complaint filed by the woman journalist.

“When I had gone to Anubhav Mohanty’s residence on June 12 to complain about his elder brother Anuprash Mohanty who has been harassing me, the MP misbehaved and spat at me in the presence of his wife Barsha Priyadarshini, who also verbally abused me,” alleged the complainant.

In response, Mohanty refuted the allegations and said that someone has hatched a conspiracy against him. "The woman was creating ruckus outside my residence and I had informed police about it. Somebody might be trying to defame us," said the BJD MP.
