Jaleswar: A local contractor has filed an FIR against BJD's Jaleswar MLA, Aswini Kumar Patra for allegedly making casteist remarks and demanding bribe. The FIR was filed at Jaleswar Police Station.

As per the reports, contractor, Lokanath Jena filed the FIR against Patra alleging that the MLA misbehaved with him and passed casteist remarks as he refused to give percentage commission (PC) for the contracts he had received.

"I went to meet the MLA at his office and greeted him. Upon seeing me, he started shouting and got irritated on his officials for assigning me government contracts. He also made casteist remarks and insulted me. He instructed the officials not to assign me contracts," Lokanath Jena said.

"I have already given him more than five lakhs as PC for the previous contracts and now he is demanding two lakhs more," he added.

On the other hand, MLA Patra denied the allegations made by the contractor.

"The allegations made by the contractor are false and fabricated. The contractor is mentally imbalanced. I am ready to face probe as I have no involvement in any matter," he added.

Patra further stated that Lokanath Jena had earlier sought permission for euthanasia from the President of India alleging irregularities and corruption by officials. He had written a letter regarding the same, which was published in a newspaper, the MLA said.
