Cuttack: The alleged misbehaviour shown towards a woman scribe by BJD’s Kendrapara MP Anubhav Mohanty and his brother has not been established, informed Cuttack DCP Akhileswar Singh today.

However, the DCP confirmed that there was a heated exchange of words between Anubhav and the scribe on June 12.

“We have recorded the statements of 6 witnesses under section 164 of the CrPC. As per the findings of the report by the concerned investigation officer, there was a heated exchange of words between the parties,” said Singh.

Earlier, the woman journalist had filed a complaint against the BJD MP for allegedly abusing her physically and verbally.

“When I had gone to Anubhav Mohanty’s residence on June 12 to complain about his brother Anuprash Mohanty who had been harassing me, the MP misbehaved and spat at me in the presence of his wife Barsha Priyadarshini, who also verbally abused me,” the complainant had alleged.

Singh further stated that no evidence was found to prove that the BJD MP’s brother Anuprash used to pass lewd comments at her.

“The concerned investigation officer has been directed to complete the probe,” Singh added.
