FCI Employees Union demands hike in salary

Berhampur: The employees union of Food Corporation of India (FCI) staged a two-day demonstration in front of the company’s office here at Aska today demanding a hike in salary of grade III and grade IV employees.

The eligible employees are not getting their revised salary due to the negligence of FCI officials since last year. The employees criticised the company’s management for not paying heed to their demands.

Though the employees have been staging demonstrations since May this year and also lodged their grievances before the senior officials, no step has been taken so far, alleged employees.

The employees today staged demonstration from 10 am to 5.30 pm in the evening in front of the company’s office.

“The wages for the officers have been revised from January this year while the pay revision of grade III and grade IV employees are yet to be approved. We have staged the demonstration for approval of our pay revision by the management,” said N Srinivas Rao, FCI Employees Union district president.
