Nayagarh: Four persons including a father-son duo were killed and at least 12 others injured when a bus carrying them rammed against a tree in Naygarh district, police said today.

The driver of the Kantilo bound bus from Puri ferrying over 45 passengers lost control over the vehicle at Bhapur under Fategarh police station and hit the tree on Thursday before overturning, SDPO, Khandapara, Abhimanyu Nayak said.

The four victims were identified as Chinmaya Behera (14), his father Ramesh Behera (40) of Jamusahi, Soumyaranjan Sahu (36) of Nimapatna and Thatia Nayak (40) of Madhaberani villages, all under Fategarh police station, Nayak said.

The injured were being treated at the district headquarters hospital here, he said adding inquiry into the mishap was continuing.
