Father of Separated Conjoined Twins- Jaga & Kalia Brings Serious Charges Against Odisha Govt
New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Bhuyan Kanhar, the father of separated conjoined twins- Jaga and Kalia, on Tuesday alleged that the Odisha government is constantly delaying the shifting of his kids from New Delhi AIIMS to Bhubaneswar.
Speaking to OTV, Kanhar stated that condition of both the twins is stable now, hence, they want to return to Odisha and continue the treatment here. And because he has remained held up in Delhi for two years now, his own parents and two other kids are suffering back home, Kanhar said.
“Jaga is absolutely fine while doctors have said that Kalia needs more time to recover fully and it’s better to keep them under medication in Odisha. We can never forget the asistance provided to us by the State government but after two years when both of our children are doing well, the delay in sending us back has hurt us,” said Kanhar.
He further said that he wants to meet his two other kids and parents as they are suffering back home but he hasn’t been able to return to Odisha leaving Jaga and Kalia alone in Delhi.
Responding to the allegations, State Health Minister Naba Das said that New Delhi AIIMS is willing to transfer Jaga and Kalia but Bhubaneswar AIIMS is yet to give necessary permission.
“My department officials had visited New Delhi AIIMS. They (Jaga-Kalia’s parents) want them to be shifed to Bhubaneswar AIIMS but the latter has not yet given its consent. We have assured authorities at AIIMS New Delhi that Odisha government will follow all the instructions related to their shifting.”
Further clarifying on the issue, Das said that the State government is ready to bear all the expenses for their treatment in Bhubaneswar but the matter now lies with the two directors of AIIMS at New Delhi and Bhubaneswar. Whatever decision the two directors take, the government will follow, he added.
