Fake liquor manufacturing unit busted in Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: A fake liquor manufacturing unit operating from Gujurihaat village under Bhuban block of Dhenkanal district was busted by officials of the Excise department today.

Acting on a tip-off, the team raided the house of one Ranjan Guru early today morning today and seized 255 bottles of fake liquor, 150 litre of spirit, 20 litre of caramel and several other resources that were being used to manufacture the fake liquor.

The machine used for bottling and sealing has also been seized by the officials. The factory used to sell the fake liquor by using tags of different brands, sources said.

"A raid was conducted at the fake liquor manufacturing unit and the owner has been arrested. The important thing is that the bottling machine used for manufacturing has been seized from the spot," Excise department official, Manoj Kumar Sethi said.

As per preliminary investigation, Guru was procuring the spirit and caramel from Kolkata, Sethi added. An investigation is currently underway.
