Fake currency notes worth Rs 65,000 seized in Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: Fake currency notes worth Rs 65,000 were seized by Rengali Police in Chikhlapali village in Jharsuguda district today. Police have detained 3 persons in connection with the case.

According to sources, after getting a tip-off on trading of fake currency notes near Odisha-Chhattisgarh border, police officials conducted raids in the village and seized 110 fake notes of Rs 500 denomination and five fake notes of Rs 2000 denomination.

Police are suspecting the involvement of a racket behind the trading of fake currency notes. After the operation, police officials gave a demo of the mechanism at the police station through which the fake notes were printed.

“We had information about a fake note racket in Chikhlapali village. We have detained 3 persons in this connection. Further investigation are on in the incident,” Gitiranjan Mohapatra, IIC of Rengali Police Station said.
