Rayagada: Police have seized fake currency notes worth Rs 2.30 lakh from Tikiri area of Rayagada district and arrested one person in connection with the case.

According to reports, all the currency notes are of Rs 2000 denomination. After getting a tip-off, police raided the residence of the accused Jogendra Nayak in Tikiri area and seized 115 fake notes.

Following the raids, Rayagada Police has launched an investigation to find out if anybody else was involved in the crime.

Speaking on the incident, Rayagada Superintendent of Police, Sarvana Vivek M said, "During the raid, we seized 115 fake Rs 2000 currency notes and arrested one person. Our investigation is currently underway."
