Koraput: An intra-party feud reared its head in BJD’s Koraput district unit after party workers in Laxmipur constituency raised questions over the behaviour of party's observer of the district, Tejeswar Parida.

According to sources, a few days back, Parida had allegedly misbehaved with a senior party member in Kakiriguma area of the district.

"He physically assaulted me and used foul language. So we held a meeting today to decide what action will be taken against him," BJD's secretary of Bandhugaon block, Abhimanyu Mandi said.

A section of the party workers have said that they will inform the matter to the district president as well as the party supremo Naveen Patnaik.

Responding to the allegations, Parida said "This could be a conspiracy against me by a party member who had misbehaved with me in an inebriated condition.”

Last year, infighting within BJD’s Koraput district unit had surfaced after a leader of its youth wing openly threatened to quit party, indirectly pointing fingers at the newly-appointed district unit chief Ishwar Panigrahy.
