Berhampur: The four-member fact finding committee formed to probe into the alleged irregularities in Berhampur University submitted its report to Vice-Chancellor Rajendra Prasad Das today.

The committee in its report recommended the University authorities to declare all the results of the last examination conducted within 45 days. Besides, the team also advised the university to publish the results of PG first semester within 30 days.

The fact finding team was constituted by Higher Education department following directions from the Chancellor based on reports of several irregularities in Berhampur University.

The Chancellor had written to the Additional Secretary of Higher Education Prasanta Kumar Das asking him to immediately probe into the irregularities in Berhampur University and submit report within 60 days.

Earlier, some students of the varsity had brought allegations of irregularities in appointment of staff and lecturers, discrepancies in teaching and evaluation of answer sheets, financial mid management and other lacunae in infrastructure development.

The fact finding team led by Ashok Das, vice chairman of Odisha State Higher Education Council had visited Berhampur University on August 4 and reviewed examination and assessment process. The team also examined the cause behind poor pass percentage in Plus Three second semester examination in 2017.

The team has also suggested several other recommendations for immediate implementation in the larger interest of students and better functioning and management of the university.
