Narayanpatna: Border Security Force (BSF) jawans on Wednesday seized huge cache of explosive materials from Salapaguda forest during a combing operation in Maoist-prone Narayanpatna block of Koraput district.

The security forces belonging to 28th battalion traced four iron pipes which are used to make claymore mines along with four bundles of wire and gun powder weighing 40 kg from a den at Salapaguda village forest under Podapadara gram panchayat.

Two days ago, BSF personnel and local police in a joint combing operation seized large number of steel containers filled with explosives from Musalmunda forests in Narayanpatna.

The security personnel also seized three landmines weighing 22 kg each, three tiffin bombs weighing about 5 kg each and a country-made gun with huge amount of wires and safety fuse from the forest during operation.
