Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today urged investors to explore huge untapped investment opportunities in the State by participating in the Make in Odisha Conclave scheduled to be held from November 11 to November 15 in Bhubaneswar this year.

Speaking on the sidelines of a roadshow in New Delhi for the second edition of ‘Make in Odisha Conclave’ today, Naveen said Odisha has got a huge potential for investments across a plethora of sectors.

"The state government will be organising the second edition of its flagship initiative Make in Odisha Conclave to showcase the investment opportunities across diverse sectors and the manufacturing prowess of the state," Naveen said.

Naveen further informed that Odisha is fast emerging as the manufacturing hub of eastern India. The state government has been judiciously creating opportunities for easing the business ecosystem in the state since last 18 years, he added.

Citing instances, the CM said the growth in port business has increased from 20.5 MMT to 190 MMT during the period while industries like food processing, textiles, chemicals, plastic, petrochemicals, ancillary industries in metal sectors and tourism have flourished in the state.

Several noted entrepreneurs, businessmen, investors and intellectuals from across the country came together to exchange ideas during the roadshow.

It is to be noted that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is on a three day visit to New Delhi to attract investments to the State as a part of Make in Odisha. Patnaik has already met Sandip Somany, President of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and discussed progressive industry-friendly policies and reforms for ease of doing business in the state, informed sources.

He also met Kenji Hiramatsu, Ambassador of Japan to India and discussed several investment opportunities in Odisha. Japan is the country partner for the Make in Odisha Conclave this year while the State Bank of India (SBI) is the banking partner for the event.

CM Naveen has also launched an official web portal for Invest in Odisha - http://www.investodisha.gov.in

Earlier, in August, the Chief Minister had met industry bigwigs in Mumbai at a roadshow organised by the Odisha government in association with its industry partner FICCI.
