Evaluation of Plus-II papers begins

Bhubaneswar: Evaluation for Plus-II answer sheets for all the streams including Arts, Science, Commerce and Vocational Studies began today.

Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) officials said the evaluation will be done in two phases. While the first phase evaluation would be held from March 30 to April 12, the second phase would commence between April 13 and 27.

The CHSE has decided to conduct online evaluation of five papers of Science stream – Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology – from this year. The online evaluation of the Science papers would begin from April 6, they added.

Around 21 lakh answer sheets will be evaluated off-line this year at 50 centres and around 12,000 examiners have been engaged for the job. Similarly, 4,21,000 Science papers will be evaluated online at 28 centres across the State. Around 3,000 lecturers have been pressed into service for online marking, they further said.

Meanwhile, the fee of the evaluators has been increased from Rs 10 to Rs 15 per paper this year. They will have to remain present at least five hour at the centre, CHSE sources said.
