Bhubaneswar:  Intensifying their agitation on an eight-point charter of demands, the staff of Bhubaneswar Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) on Tuesday staged a ‘lunch-hour demonstration’.

The EPFO staff staged the demonstration under the banner of All India Employees Provident Fund Staff Federation (AIEPFSF) and raised slogans during lunch-hour to highlight their demands.

It is pertinent to mention here that AIEPFSF has been spearheading the country-wide agitation to press for early resolution of long-pending issues of promotions, recruitment, financial benefits and extension of benefits consequent upon implementation of cadre restructuring.

“Our agitation is continuing since August 1 and we will continue till our demands are not fulfilled. We have also called for a country-wide cease work agitation on August 28,” said Prashant Barik, secretary EPF.
