Former CPI Maoist state committee member Nikhil has appealed to the Maoists to lay down their arms and surrender, stating that Maoism and the Maoist struggle have reached their final phase.
As per sources, only a handful of Maoists are now hiding in the vast forest areas of Kandhamal district in Odisha. In this context, repeated appeals are being made to them to surrender, starting from the Director General of Police (DGP) to senior police officers, including the DIG and the Kandhamal Superintendent of Police.
Nikhil, who recently surrendered in Rayagada, released an audio message on Saturday urging all his comrades to surrender. He also said that anyone wishing to surrender can contact him at 9437643839, assuring that he will extend full cooperation to facilitate the process.

"In the present economic, social, and political scenario, it has become extremely difficult to continue armed rebellion. As a result, we are facing numerous challenges and gradually losing touch with the people. I appeal to all comrades to abandon the path of armed struggle and come forward to raise their voices through democratic protest in accordance with the provisions of the Indian Constitution,” said surrendered Maoist Nikhil.
