Eleven unions protest fuel price hike

Bhubaneswar: Members of eleven trade unions today courted arrest by breaking the police cordon during a `satyagraha and jail bharo` against price hike of essentials here today.

A rally organised from the state CPI headquarter at Ashoknagar terminated at PMG square where leaders of AITUC, CITU, INTUC and others addressed the gathering. Some bank employees attended the rally under the banner of AOBEA.

Among the other demands were minimum wage, provident fund, pension, health insurance, bonus and social security.
