Rourkela: Carcass of a female elephant was found deep inside a forest near Kadalaka village about 70 km from here. Rourkela DFO Atish Behera said the villagers informed forest officials about the death of an female elephant on Thursday and a forest team rushed to the spot.

The elephant aged over 60 might have died due to old age and death occurred 4-5 days back, he said. A forest team accompanied by a veterinary doctor was sent to the site today for performing a post-mortem and to bury the carcass.
