Bhubaneswar: The ruling-BJD took a jibe at BJP today as the saffron party is yet to announce its candidate list for the 2019 general polls. Mocking at BJP's 120+ mission, BJD claimed the party has no candidates in dozens of constituencies and attributed it as the main reason for delay in announcing candidate list.

Hitting back, BJP ridiculed that BJD is imploding as a huge exodus is being witnessed daily. BJP counselled BJD not to poke nose in other's house, rather the ruling party should first puts its house in order.

The polling process for the April polls in 2019 has begun. The last date for filing of nominations for the first and second phase polls is March 25 and 26, but BJP has failed to reach any consensus yet on finalisation of candidates. The ‘Mission 120’ has become a mere slogan for the saffron party, alleged Sasmit Patra, spokesperson of BJD.

“BJP is going to face defeat in Elections 2019. People of Odisha have failed to understand why the saffron party has not released its candidates’ list yet. Is everything all right in the party? Some leaders are inducted and some have deserted the party. There is an imbalance in BJP,” Patra added.

He also targeted Congress saying that even though the national party is claiming to provide reservation for women, it has fielded a lone woman candidate as per the party’s first list of candidates for the Elections 2019.

Responding to Patra’s claims, BJP leader Bhrugu Baxipatra said, “Looking at the jolts that they (BJD) are getting, we are advising them to first put their house in order. We are not working as per BJD's directions and are not accountable to them.”

Anyone from Congress was not available for comment on Patra’s allegations.
