Election results of 5 states clearly shows the mood of the nation: CM Naveen
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today asserted that BJP had to suffer in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and other parts of the country for its anti-farmer policies and the results clearly reflect the mood the nation.
“The BJP government at the Centre more or less ignored the recommendations of Swaminathan Report and loan problems of the farmers. This led to the results in Assembly Elections in several States,” said Patnaik while congratulating Congress and MNF and other north-eastern parties for their victories.
Responding to a media query over the possibility of an alliance or the ‘Mahagatbandhan’ ahead of the 2019 general elections in Odisha, Patnaik said BJD remains equidistant from both BJP and Congress.
“Though we have extended issue-based support, we remain equidistant from both BJP and Congress. There is no firm ‘Mahagatbandhan’ now and let’s see what happens in future,” said Patnaik.
On a question over the ongoing Mahanadi dispute keeping in view that the BJP government has been toppled in Chhattisgarh, Patnaik expressed hope of finding a resolution soon.
