Jajpur: At least eight people were injured in a clash between two truck operators' unions in Kaliapani area in Jajpur district on Tuesday, police said.

An argument between the two groups of truckers affiliated to different truck operators' unions over loading of chromite ore in Kaliapani mines under Sukinda Chromite Valley led to the clash, they said.

The injured were rushed to the local government hospital with five of the seriously injured shifted to the Tata hospital at Kaliapani, police said.

The warring groups were dispersed by the police.
