Bhubaneswar: Engineer-turned-education reformist Sonam Wangchuk on Wednesday said education should be transformed from the conventional practice of 3Rs (Reading, wRiting, and aRithmetic) to 3Hs (Head, Hands, Heart).

Delivering a lecture at the Odisha Knowledge Hub (OKH) organised at the Lok Seva Bhawan here, the Magsaysay award winner said, "You don't learn anything till you have taught someone.” He also emphasised on the importance of creating innovative and transformative educational tools for children.

“Life is not about what I need, but what needs me. Rich or poor, rural or urban, each one has earth beneath the feet and the sun overhead. If we do things that connect the two, we can create wonders,” said the legend who inspired blockbuster movie 3 Idiots.

He further said, "If your idea is sound, even with the minority of 1, it is still right. If it is not sound, even with a majority of 99, it is still wrong. If you have a sound idea, stay with it."

Many administrative officers and secretaries were present during the event addressed by Wangchuk.

Later, he addressed the students of SAI International School. He advised the students to apply mathematics and science in their real life. He also asked the students to keep the environment clean.
