The annual Eco Retreat in Daringbadi in Kandhamal district, often referred to as the Kashmir of Odisha, is set to be inaugurated on Saturday. It is all set to offer visitors an opportunity to experience nature atop the region’s scenic hilltops.

The destination will reportedly host tourists in luxurious tents constructed under the open sky, with the Kandhamal district administration making full preparations to ensure a smooth experience.

As per reports, officials of the local administration were present at the venue under the directive of Kandhamal Collector and District Magistrate Vedbhushan to oversee arrangements and welcome guests.

Officials Highlight Tourist Preparations

Daringbadi BDO, Pritiranjan Rath, said the region continues to live up to its reputation. 

“Daringbadi is called the Kashmir of Odisha. Eco Retreat will be inaugurated soon, and we are fully prepared to give tourists unique experience. We have ensured that visitors do not face any issues. The tourist areas and the Eco Retreat site have been reviewed, and we have also ensured that they will have access to basic facilities,” he said.

He added that along with the inauguration of the Eco Retreat, the administration is adhering to the ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ concept and has made all necessary arrangements.

Daringbadi Tehsildar Dhiraj Patra noted that the hill station remains a popular choice for travellers exploring Odisha. 

“The tourists who visit Odisha, after travelling to Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Puri, choose Daringbadi as their next destination. Currently, the coldest region in Odisha is Daringbadi ,and the current temperature is attracting tourists, who are visiting in large numbers. Police personnel have been deployed so that tourists do not face any problems. The people of Daringbadi are peace-loving, and I believe we will all treat the visitors with utmost respect,” he said.

Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida is reportedly scheduled to inaugurate the facility virtually.
