DVOR technology at Jharsuguda airport to be operational from tomorrow

Jharsuguda: With an aim to ensure better functioning of the Veer Surendra Sai Airport here, authorities of the airport will make the Doppler Very High-Frequency Omni Range (DVOR) technology operational from tomorrow.

Following this move, the pilots will get better visibility irrespective of weather conditions at the Veer Surendra Sai Airport, informed Director of the airport SK Chauhan. "The DVOR technology will enhance visibility by 2,300 metres at the airport. With the installation of this system passengers will be benefitted the most," he added.

Though the machine was installed at the airport since February this year, it could not be made operational yet.

Earlier, passengers were suffering a lot due to cancellation of flights to and from the airport due to absence of the DVOR technology.
