Nuapada: A dreaded Maoist escaped from the Nuapada SDJM court premises today by scaling the boundary wall of the court.

The Maoist, identified as Manoj Madkami, a resident of Bijapur in Chhatishgarh, fled from the court premises by giving the cops a slip.

As per reports, Madkami was brought by police to be produced before the court.

According to sources, Manoj is a cadre of Bargarh-Bolangir-Mahasumund Maoist division and has many cases pending against him in Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

Following the incident, police have started investigation while raids are being conducted at several places to nab the absconding Maoist.

Madkami, who was carrying a cash reward of Rs 4 lakh was arrested by police on May 30.
