'Dowry Torture' Goes One Step Ahead! Odisha Man Uploads 'Intimate Video With Wife' On Social Media

Nayagarh: Until now, the State had witnessed women being harassed, tortured, murdered by in-laws over dowry demands. However, the torture over dowry went a step ahead after a man allegedly uploaded an intimate video with his wife, on social media platforms.

Such a shocking incident was reported from Nuagaon police station area of Nayagarh district today where an intimate video of woman has been made viral by none other than her husband.

In a complaint lodged at the police station, the woman who happens to be a teacher alleged that her husband and in-laws harassed her over dowry demand. Though she had tied the knot three years ago, recently, she left her in-laws' place to stay with her parents as the harassment was beyond her patience. Irate over this, her husband uploaded their intimate video on social media.

Nuagaon Police, meanwhile, has initiated a probe into the matter based on the complaint. "We have registered a case after the woman filed a complaint alleging that she was being tortured by her husband. An obscene video of the woman has gone viral on social media. However, the complainant is yet to provide me proof regarding the viral video. An investigation is underway," informed Nuagaon IIC, Manorama Mallick.
