Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has served a show-cause notice to Tourism and Culture minister Ashok Panda for availing multiple plots/houses under the discretionary quota (DQ) allotment of the government.

Housing and Urban Development minister Pushpendra Singhdeo revealed this information while replying to a written question posed by Prafulla Majhi in the Assembly recently. Ashok’s wife Priyadarshini Nanda has also been served show cause notice by the BDA.

While accepting that he has received the notice, Panda has said he has already furnished his reply. "My wife has also responded to the notice," he informed.

“I have not received the plot under DQ. While accepting the plot, there were no plots or flats either in my name or my wife’s,” Panda said.

Data revealed that Ashok’s wife was allotted a plot in 1996 under the BDA Kalinga Nagar Plotted Development Scheme in Aerodrome area. However, Panda was also allotted a house under Kalinga Vihar Housing scheme the same year.
