Rourkela: At least 33 persons were admitted to different hospitals here today with symptoms of diarrhoea in Rourkela, official sources said. The additional chief district medical officer Santosh Kumar Nayak said three medical camps were opened at Narla Road, Ganjam Basti and Shanti Colony area under municipality jurisdiction and door to door medical check-ups were being conducted.

As many as 387 people were given preventive doses in medical camps. All necessary measures including sanitation have been taken up and people were advised to consume boiled water and keep their cooked foods under cover.

Out of 33, eight patients were discharged and 25 were still undergoing treatment and all are improving, Nayak said. The medical team rushed to the affected areas and took precautionary measures. The medical camp will continue for the next two days.
