Cuttack: The condition of the Dhenkanal conjoined twins, who were admitted to the Sishu Bhawan on Monday, is still critical, informed hospital sources.

Sishu Bhawan Superintendent Saroj Satpathy informed that the hospital is planning to shift the twin girls to SCB Medical College and Hospital for MRI and CT scans.

The twins girls share a common heart, kidney and 'the feasibility of their surgery depends on the condition of the heart', said Satpathy.

He further said that the twin girls also have problem in their respiratory systems.

A seven-member doctors’ team was earlier constituted by the Sishu Bhawan on Tuesday for the treatment of the conjoined twin girls.

It is pertinent to mention here that one Renubala of Khalpal village in Parjang block had given birth to the conjoined twins on July 1. The newborns are joined at chest and stomach and weigh 4.3 kgs.
