Devotion and festive fervour mark Saraswati Puja celebrations across Odisha

Saraswati Puja, dedicated to the worship of Goddess Saraswati, the deity of learning and wisdom, is being observed with devotion and enthusiasm across Odisha on the auspicious occasion of Magha Shukla Panchami.

From villages to cities, a festive atmosphere has enveloped communities as students and devotees thronged educational institutions and neighbourhoods to seek the blessings of the Goddess. 

Special prayers and rituals are being organised across the state, particularly in schools, colleges and coaching centres, where students, teachers and staff members are actively participating in the celebrations.

Educational campuses have been adorned with decorations, creating a vibrant and celebratory ambience that reflects the spirit of the occasion.

A unique and inspiring scene was witnessed at Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir, Unit-8, where students themselves performed the Saraswati Puja in place of a priest. The students chanted hymns, followed traditional rituals and conducted the puja with discipline and devotion.

“Our students are offering prayers to Maa Saraswati and performing the puja rituals on their own by reciting hymns and observing traditions. This initiative sends a strong and positive message and is truly commendable. Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir, Unit-8, will continue to promote such meaningful initiatives to make the celebrations more impactful,” said the school principal.

The student-led puja has drawn appreciation from parents and locals alike, adding a special dimension to the Saraswati Puja celebrations observed across the state.
